Vic Lindquist was born in Gold Rock, Ontario, on March 22, 1908. Now a ghost town, but at one point in the late 1890s to 1910s, Gold Rock was a settlement of 200 miners and their families all looking for gold. When the gold had finally run out, the mines were closed, and the people left.

Lindquist was raised solely by his mother and grew up in nearby Ken…
