The story of the Kenora Thistles is one of sport's greatest underdog tales. It is the story of seven men − five of whom were born or raised in the tiny Ontario wilderness town just east of the Manitoba border − who defeated the Montreal Wanderers, the best team in Canada's biggest and richest city. It would be like a team from Chisholm, Minnesota, travelling to New York and beating the Yankees in the World Series.
