A Look At Rene Trudell
After serving four years for the Canadian Army in World War II, Rene Trudell played three seasons after the War for the New York Rangers.
Hailing from Mariapolis, Manitoba, Rene Trudell played 129 games in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers between 1946 and 1948. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1938 to 1949, was spent in the minor leagues.
Trudell grew up in Mariapolis, where he learned how to skate and play hockey, before moving into the Transcona area of Winnipeg as a teenager.
From there, Trudell’s quickly developed as a top junior player in the city with a reputation as a fine skater and stickhandler. However, his career got shelved for part of his prime as he served in the Canadian military during the Second World War.
