Weston is a former village which is now currently apart of the city of Toronto. It has a population of 13,000 and was first incorporated as a village in 1881. Weston born Mike Liut was one of the best goaltenders in the NHL during the 1980s. He played the most games (544), recorded the most wins (239) and had the most shutouts (22) for any goalie during that decade, beating out goalies like Grant Fuhr, Pete Peeters and Reggie Lemelin for that honour. Mike was a butterfly style goalie in a time where standup was still the predominant way to play goaltender.
Mike is known from his Blues/Whalers days as a goalie who always came up large when his team needed him the most and thrived under pressure for the most part during his career.
