Harry Hap Holmes, a renowned hockey legend and goalie for the 1925 Victoria Cougars Stanley Cup Champions, was born in Aurora, Ontario, Canada on February 21, 1988. He was Aurora’s first professional hockey player.

Holmes' 17-year professional career from 1912 to 1928 included many notable achievements. In 1914, just two years into his professional career, he led the National Hockey Association in wins and played a key role in the Toronto Blueshirts’ Stanley Cup victory.
